This one is an action/comedy series concept I’ve been developing with director Geoffrey Plitt based on a pitch by Will Brasington. The character I’m working on is ‘Broc Riggs’, a low IQ crime fighter who is really only at home when throwing bad guys through windows and diving out of flaming airplanes, and woefully dysfunctional when it comes to civilian life or the finer points of ‘reality’. Should offer some great pyrotechnics and I’m looking forward to the physical comedy…
Get a little pre-Sundance vibe going; Graphation is new festival kicking off January 14-16 at the Downtown Independent here in Los Angeles. The festival’s mission is to showcase short films that can inspire comic books and graphic novels, which incidentally is the perfect premiere venue for ‘The One That Got Away’. Written and directed by Devin Lawrence, the beautifully produced short really shows off his signature dark, action driven humor. Lance Lee Davis plays a suburban husband, cheerfully oblivious to his wife’s secret prior life as a badass contract killer. Erin Ross and Mark Smith costar with Davis. Reuben Lim produced. ‘The One That Got Away’ is programmed for the Saturday, January 15th show at 6pm.
